Please contact us for more information about Keystone Club, Torch Club, Youth Leadership Forum and special events. Harrold Youth Center also features over 100 titles of educational and recreational software for all ages.

Youth Services focuses on a wide variety of youth activities. Harrold Youth Center houses a 9,000 square foot multi-purpose gym, a dance studio, technology lab and homework center, a TV lounge and a game room. The center sponsors age-appropriate activities and youth leadership and development programs. Center membership is required for participation in activities. Holiday and summer camps are offered for 6th-9th youth, and special teen programs and hours are available. If you are interested in a morning program for 6th-9th graders from 5:30 to 8 a.m., please call the center.

* Center (during school year): Monday - Friday, 6 - 8 p.m. teens only, Saturday 1 - 6 p.m. all ages, Sunday closed
* Center (during summer): Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
* Galaxy Teen Lounge: Friday, 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 6 to 11 p.m.

Home Alone Policy:

Requires children under 9 years of age be accompanied by an adult.

Galaxy Teen Lounge:

Check out the summer activities for teens in 9th-12th grades! The Teen Lounge has been revamped and redesigned complete with a huge new projector screen, and a new DJ sound and lighting system, up to date music, and 3D television! You can participate in Friday Night Block Parties or stop by and hang out with your friends. The Teen Lounge is open Friday 6 p.m.-midnight and Saturday 6-11 p.m.

Summer Saturday Trips:

Saturdays from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Cost $38. June 22 - Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun. July 13 - Schlitterbahn. August 3 - Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun.

Teen Summer Tech Camps:

Tech Camp is held at Harrold Youth Center from 1-3 p.m. Camp is free to participants who have completed 6th-9th grades and are registered with CYSS. If you would like more information, give us a call at (913) 684-5118 or 684-5131.

Week 2: June 10-12 - GPS Course (no program June 13 and 14)
Week 3: June 18-21 - Drop the Bass (no program June 17)

After School Clubs & Programs (MST):

The After School Program is for 6th through 9th graders, Monday-Friday from 2:45 to 6 p.m. at the Youth Center. Transportation is available from on post schools and designated off post schools to the Youth Center. The program is free, but families and/or children must be enrolled in CYS Services. Including Arts and Crafts, Chess Club, Cooking Club, Fishing Club, Photography Club, Science Club, Sewing, Smart Girls, Youth of the Year, Scholarships, and Promise Passport (community service hours).

Torch Club is a youth leadership organization for youth in grades 6-8. Torch Club executes service projects, participates in fund-raising and community events, and acts as a leadership council within the MST after-school program.  All youth grades 6-8 who are eligible for services in CYSS are welcome.  Registration with CYSS and enrollment in the MST After School Program are required. Torch Club also holds special events exclusive to its members, such as field trips or parties at HYC. Torch Club meets intermittently in the afternoons during the MST after-school program.

Stargazing Club is open to any youth registered with CYSS in grades 6-12. Stargazing Club studies Earth's moon, stars, constellations, and other celestial phenomena such as meteor showers. HYC provides a high-powered Dobsonian Telescope with 96x magnification abilities (powerful enough to view the moon's mountains/valleys and the rings of Saturn on clear nights!). Attendees are encouraged to bring telescopes from home as well. We will also discuss the work of NASA and other institutions in exploration of deep space and our solar system.
